Teach me to be wild and still Teach me to go where I will How to wither until I expire. Teach me how to leave And to stay To be solid And washed away with time or With water. Teach me to be colorful Like rainbows and rust Teach me to love Without trust To carry only what I must or What remains. Teach me to imagine Without hope. How to grieve But not cope How to be tied To the end of my rope and To let go. Teach me how to know Without learning How to hunger Without yearning When to find solace in the burning or in The ashes. Teach me how to whisper From my heart How to be a whole world Filled with art Teach me how to sense When to start or when To rest. Teach me to be open Like fields and the sky In return, I’ll abandon the how For the why Forever I promise to believe but not try. To breath Is to die. Teach me to be wild And still.
